We want to welcome you to the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Niagara Youth Conference. From 1993 to 2013 over 100,000 youth and adults attended a Joshua Revolution Conference or Crusade with over 50,000 attending the Niagara Christmas Youth Conference.
It has been five years since we last held this event, but now the Niagara Youth Conference is back and I believe this is by God’s design. When we look at the condition of the public schools of America and Canada, we can clearly see the tremendous need for our young people to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be touched and changed by the Spirit of the Living God.
From the beginning of 2018 to the end of the school year, there was an average of one school shooting (in U.S. schools) per week. Our schools have literally become like war zones. The time has come my brothers and sisters, for the church to rise up and do something before it is too late. It is time for another Spiritual Revolution in our country.
At Niagara ’18, every young person is going to be presented with the truth of God’s love for them and how God’s only Son paid a great price for them to be in heaven with Him one day. They will learn that God must judge sin, but they will also learn that 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ took that judgment on the cross so they can be forgiven and set free.
Niagara ’18 is also going to challenge students to be bold and not ashamed of the Gospel. They will be trained on how to take the Gospel message of forgiveness and freedom from sin to their junior and senior high schools. Niagara ’18 will challenge every student to be “salt and light” to their generation and to see themselves as missionaries sent by God to reach the greatest mission fields in our nation, the public schools.
I cannot think of anything that has changed the American school culture more in the last 50 years than the Columbine High School massacre. On April 20, 1999 the world changed as two young boys killed 13 people, committed double suicide and also injured many others who still to this day are suffering the consequences of that evil.
I personally went to Columbine High School 10 days after the shooting and attended the last funeral of one of the students killed in the massacre. I spent several hours on the school campus crying with the students and trying to find the answer to the question, why? Returning home to Western New York, I committed myself before God to help reach the young people who are hurting like the two gunmen who caused that terrible tragedy. From 1999 to this date, God has led us to lead a revolution…a “Jesus Revolution.” God has done some incredible things and many lives have been saved, but I believe the greatest move of God is yet to come.
Joshua Revolution has teamed up with the executive producers and actors from the movie I’m Not Ashamed, which was created to tell the story of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student killed at Columbine High School. This one young girl, who had devoted her life to making a difference at her school, was no doubt martyred for her faith as the gunman asked if she believed in God before he pulled the trigger and took her life. The movie of her life has impacted millions of people around the world.
Now, the producers and leading actors from this powerful Christian film are coming to Niagara ’18. They are coming to tell Rachel’s story and to challenge every student and leader to be like Rachel and reach out into your world and make your life count for Christ.
I believe God has something very special for every person who attends Niagara ’18. The theme of this event is “Experience the Power,” taken from Acts 1:8 that says: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
We believe God wants to empower every person who attends this conference with His Holy Spirit, to be a bold witness for Him and reach a lost and dying world. When we look at the way things are going in our world, I think you would agree with me there is not much time left and the most important thing we can be doing is reaching this generation for Christ.
We believe God has spoken to our hearts to bring back the Niagara Youth Conference and we also believe He has led us to make this conference free of charge. It will cost our ministry roughly $150,000 to produce this event but we are are believing God is going to help us raise this amount. For the students that need the Gospel, it comes to them at no charge. Our prayer is that every church and family will take advantage of this incredible opportunity to see our young people and their schools changed forever!
We are praying that everyone will JOIN THE REVOLUTION!
